Road trip?

My mom has offered to front the gas money for the kids and I to come out and visit for a week. I'm considering it...
We would leave tomorrow morning.
It's about 600 miles driving.
I'm just not sure yet if I'm up to it....

Seems I wasn't the only one with this idea!

Does the money fronted include snacks along the way? If it doesn't, I'd totally tell her no way!

Oh yeah, we'll be covered!

I hate driving WITHOUT kids. Seems even harder with kids. Then again, I miss home too... do it!

You just have to teach Elizabeth to feed you while you drive. "Mommy needs a french fry!"

If she could change baby diapers while we drive, we'd be golden.
I also need one of those mid-air style refueling tankers at about the 300 mile marker.

Jess: Isn't it funny. Simi is sooo home to me. I haven't lived there since I graduated college, which was like two whole years ago....wink wink....perpetuate the myth...but still, I'm more at home there than anywhere else. And I really only lived in Simi from the age of 5 to 18. The formative years I suppose.

I lived there since I was born, only until 18 too, but it's such a homey place! Where does your mom live? I grew up in the Bridal Path (far west end) but now my mom lives off Stearns.

We moved from New Jersey when I was five and have been in the same house since.
My mom still lives in the Groves, at the intersection of Alamo and Sequoia.

I never knew that you lived in Bridal Path! All of us Atherwood kids came from all over.

PS How do you feel about your mom venturing into Pioneer territory?? ;)

You should totally go for it! It's hard with 3 kids...I know but it's always nice to visit family!

We're leaving in the morning....sigh....
I've done the drive before with three and it wasn't so bad. Once you get into it...you realize it's just a matter of time before you get there. And then when you get there, you sleeeeep and let Nani have the kids!
