Laissez les bon temps cesser

It's Ash Wednesday!
For us *Catholics* it's the beginning of Lent.
This year, I am taking advantage of a fun offer from The Mommy Librarian to select my Lenten sacrifice.
Here's hoping she'll post it soon, so I can start suffering ASAP!

Amy, do you go get your ashes?
I never do.

I actually almost mentioned the huge smear of dirt on one of my staff members' forheads until I remembered it's Ash Wednesday.

Okay, Jesse... I have thought and thought about this... it's really hard to pick something for you because 1) I don't know your weaknesses and 2) You are nursing and have a newborn and are therefore tortured enough. So, how about you give up cursing? No naughty words until Easter... which does seem a bit odd.

Now, if you are not a toilet mouth like I am, let me know and I will try to think of something else. :-)

Gah! Perhaps I could at least spell your name correctly! Sorry. At least you can't curse at me though. :-)

Giving up cursing is a gooooood one.
This will be tough.
I'll have to set up a cuss jar just to really abuse myself.

Amy: Those Catholic schools will save you at any price, even if it means interrupting hopscotch or handball.

Someone I know is giving up Lent for Lent. Is that bad?

I'm giving up yelling at the kids.

Be sure you keep us updated on how you are doing without those ever-useful curse words! I'll be curious to know how penance-like my penance is! :-)

I think giving up Lent for Lent will rip a hole in the space-time continuum.
That can't be good.

My penance will be very penance like.
