We bought the kids a swingset this week. Bob put it together today.
It has three swings, a glider, one of those bars you hang from and try to break your neck and your mother's heart and a slide.
This was Elizabeth's reaction to the playset... "Oh my gawd! That's AMAAAZING!"

WOW! That IS cool! I've been holding off on buying one since Athena is in daycare all day (they have a huge playground) and there is a huge "Kidtowne (R)" park very near by. However, I can see that one day I will want to just send the little whippersnappers off unsupervised into the backyard to play and a nifty set like this would provide endless amusement and glorious hospital-worthy injuries. Huzzah!
That is a kid's heaven!
We got it because we live 15 minutes out of town and thus a 15 minute drive away from the park. The closest playground is at the elementary school, but we can't go there during school hours, obviously.
So we just said, what the heck! We've got the room for it! Why not!
She's going to have so much fun with it and you're going to have so much fun making sure she doesn't make a break for the swing set at the break of dawn. :-)
True enough. I'm already dreading the first tantrum when she can't go swing at first light.
Update! We took down the break-neck bar and hung our baby swing on there. Sooo clever!
Smart move with the baby swing. When I was a kid, I had a Strawberry Shortcake swingset. That was the greatest thing ever. That and the Strawberry Shortcake wading pool...and the Strawberry Shortcake sleeping bag...and the Strawberry Shortcake bedspread...Um. Yeah. I liked Strawberry Shortcake.
I had the Strawberry Shortcake stuff too. And Holly Hobbie. My mom rotated our room decor by season. Shortcake for summer, Holly Hobbie for winter. My mom is slightly crazy.
