Today should have been the beginning of my second week back at work.
Buuuuuut.....
The kids had other plans.
I woke up this morning and Elizabeth sounded like she had smoked a pack of cigarettes in her sleep. She also had one crusty eye. Fantastic!
Obviously, you can't bring a crusty-eyed two-year-old to daycare. Hello, contagious conjunctivitis!
I don't want to be known as The Mom Who Spread Pink Eye Through The Town!
Dylan slept until almost 9. Never a good sign. He woke up with a face full of green boogers and a bad attitude.
Last night they were so happy, eating cookies and milk...
Today, they are halfway to the hospital...
Dylan has a bleeding diaper rash, Elizabeth has pinkeye, they both are sprouting green boogers from out of their noses. It's insane.
Elizabeth dressed herself this morning after her bath...
She looks great.
Dylan took a bath after his morning nap and he slipped in the tub and kind of fell into floating on his back position. His eyes were saucers, he freaked out.
Then about an hour later he fell off of the bed and onto his face. Oy vey.
Now his little nose has rug burn and he's got a big goose-egg on his forehead.
At least the bloody red nose complements the green boogers coming out of said nose...it's very festive.

Ah yes, the joys of sick children. Marcus and Athena have had matching boogers for three weeks now. We just pack them off to daycare. After all... that's where they GOT said boogers.
Incidentally, it's probably where Elizabeth's pink eye came from as well. You are too kind not to pass it along.
***UPDATE***
Elizabeth does NOT have pinkeye!!
Yay!
She's just so dang boogerific that her tear duct is blocked on that side, causing goo to ooze. Apparently.
That's from the doc, official.
So they're going to daycare tomorrow. For sure.
An official gooey, oozing eye!
I think pink eye sounds better, actually.
May they spread their cold freely about the room! (Well, the daycare room. Not YOUR room. You have enough problems, already!)
When I brought them in this morning (yes, I'm blogging at work, sue me) I found out that they are going to charge me for that day they missed...so yeah, sorry kids of the town. Unless limbs are at unnatural angles or the kids are raging a fever, they are going. If I have to pay anyway...they are sooooo going.
Amen, sistah! That's been our mantra.
I actually get some Fridays off, and some half-days during the week to make up for working weekends. I can count on one hand the number of times I haven't taken the kids (or the kid when there was only one) to school. If I'm paying, I'm using it as a sitter. Period.
And I don't feel guilty about it. Much.
