Because of the giant snow drifts trapping my car all this week, we had to put off Elizabeth's ENT consult until NEXT Tuesday....
Last night she had a particularly bad time sleeping and it made Bob and I very upset. It's hard to listen to your baby struggle just to breathe.
I'm hoping that the ENT will agree with our pediatrician's assessment and schedule her surgery ASAP.
Poor little thing was all sweaty last night from all the exertion of just trying to keep breathing.
So scary and sad.

Scary! I can't imagine how frighetening this is for you guys. We'll be thinking of you and hoping for a quick response from the ENT, and surgery to resolve this ASAP. Hang in there and give hugs to Elizabeth for us.
Owen had surgery...how did you deal with your anxiety?
I want to go into the OR and make sure they don't mess up my baby, but I know they won't let me! :)
I was a mess. I knew that it was a common procedure, and that risks were low. But the days before the procedure I couldn't get the risks out of my head. The day of, I felt better, and once the anesthesiologist talked us through everything and gave Owen his goofy juice, I felt much better. The medical staff that work with kids are USUALLY really great and understand about parents anxiety. I wished I could go in the OR, too- but once I met the anes. I had no worries trusting him with my 9 month old, and handed him right over. I'm hoping you have someone as comforting and competent to soothe all your worries.
I'm hoping that we get the same anesthesiologist that does my wonderful spinal block work for my births, because he is a lovely person. Very nice and soothing.
I freaked out the day before Dylan's birth and the whole way to the hospital that morning I was in tears, a total wreck.
When they were wheeling me into the OR for Elizabeth's birth I was crying and hoping ALOUD that I wouldn't die.
So yeah....
I don't do surgery very well...I'm more worried about ME freaking out than Elizabeth freaking out. She's a trooper. I'm a nervous wreck!
Jesey, I wanted to tell you that my tonsils are almost that big! I had bad breathing when I was little, but no surgery. It was cruddy to be choked up all the time though. It eventually went away, I guess my head grew into my tonsils? Anyway, good luck with the doctors, and hang tough!
Joan
How did the visit go today? And more importantly, is Elizabeth breathing ok at night in the meantime? I've been thinking about you guys a lot.
Oh Andrea! You're too sweet!
