Tough cookie

OK. Big surprise here, Louie brought in a lizard this morning.
A live lizard.

I called over my exterminator, Elizabeth.

With no fear and no hesitation, she grabbed the dustpan from under the kitchen sink and started to whop the lizard as it ran around.
The lizard was FIERCE! It was making like the dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park, trying to intimidate us even though it was only two inches long.
Elizabeth was totally not scared at all and corralled the lizard onto the dustpan, walked out onto the front deck with it and tossed him over the railing, saying nonchalantly...

"He's cut."

Not cute, but cut.
Apparently, Louie gave the lizard a nice belly wound before Elizabeth was able to intervene.
She's tough.

But then again, two minutes later she cried because Dylan wouldn't share his granola bar with her...soooo....

the ferocity of you and your family is incredible...

Elizabeth is brave! You should rent her out for her talents.

my kitty brought in half a bird the other day. I have yet to find the other half. only the upper torso, sans head. I think I used an entire roll of paper towels picking it up and cleaning up potential residue...

The other half of the bird is likely inside your kitty...sad but true.

I prefer it being inside the kitty... somehow I like the thought of it coming at me in a more natural form as opposed to having to chase the cat around the house hoping he or she will drop whatever remnant of the corpse remains....

It's much better to be presented with a corpse than live prey.

Jason, I could not agree more...

We've received both live and dead "gifts" from our kitties of all varieties...
Bird, mouse, rat, lizard, squirrel, bunny, horned toad, centipede...once even a snake!

Dead, decapitated and not moving is MUUUUUCH better than a bird flying around in your bedroom.
