80s Movie Summaries....Reimagined....

Name this movie!

A gigolo dance instructor turns his lecherous intentions to the youngest daughter of a prominent New York physician during her summer vacation. The ilicit affair disrupts both the management and clientele at a once posh mountain getaway.

Or how about this one...

An intelligent, but lazy, ne'er do well shuns his education, steals a car and traipses through the streets of Chicago wreaking havoc with his slutty cheerleader girlfriend and his hypochondriacal socially stunted best friend.

That one was too easy...
How about this?

A lovelorn suburban high schooler entrusted to care for the children of a family friend instead drags them into the seedy underbelly of inner city Chicago getting mixed up with a ring of car thieves, a murderous tow truck driver and a gangland knife fight.

Now you do one!

Dirty Dancing.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Adventures in Babysitting.

All of which (except perhaps the last in its entirety) I can recite by memory. Ahhh, good flicks!

You're supposed to reimagine a movie summary for me now! Gah!

Susie said...

Okay. Got all 3 of those! here is mine:

Self-Centered and melodramatic girl pines for lost manual laborer boyfriend while new, high-brow boyfriend plots ways to off her and start turf wars.

A young asmatic boy and his friends galavant through the underbelly of Oregan looking for a way to save their suburban homes.

Jessica said...

Christina! Yours is Goonies!!!

Susie...I'm perplexed...I need time to think about this one....

Amy said...

Crap, Tigerlily stole mine! I am stuck on Susie's too. . .the only ones that come to mind are not 80s movies.

Poor kid from the east coast learns to fight from maintenance man after getting the crap beat out of him by rich kids in skeleton costumes.

Susie said...

The Karate Kid!

It's an 80's movie.. i swear! Can i give you all the year as a hint?

Amy said...

Oh, I got it! Princess Bride!!! The "turf war" part got me stuck in "West Side Story" or some teen reinvention of it.

Susie said...

Yay!! I was going to say that the new boyfriend was effeminate and the girl like horseback riding and swimming with eels as a hint LOL

Jessica said...

Ah Princess Bride! Of COURSE!!

"Never go in against a SICILIAN when DEATH is on the line!"

Great flick.

A mismatched gathering of miscreants being disciplined for poor behavior virtually assure they will be required to attend future disciplinary sessions by disregarding the established rules and damaging school property.

i like this game.... breakfast club!

I'll give it a lame try:

Wealthy Washington, D.C. criminals (social and legal) meet for a dinner party. A gift exchange results in murder.

Susie said...

Okay here is another one:

ex-soldier leaves school behind to in order to search bars for a rich woman to bankroll his dream of being a sole proprietor.

Susie said...

Another one

After JAP kills her husband on their wedding night, she joins the military, moves to France and almost marries an unfaithful Parisian communist.

Stuck-up socialite loses memory and is tricked into caring for 4 bad mannered, bratty children and their manual laborer father in their disgusting house.

Little girl talks to static on the family television, while brother is attacked by a tree and skeletons go swimming in their backyard pool.

Susie said...

I like this game..

Professor and student agree to kill for each other.

*A group of ordinary New Yorkers are terrorized by gang members hired by a ruthless developer who wants to buy their apartment building. They miraculously emerge from the ordeal in better condition than they started.

Susie said...

Yeah, my husband was helping me think of more. We are both movie buffs LOL. But neither of us can get Deb's.

Jessica said...

Debbie's is Clue The Movie, which I know because it is one of my faves!

Jessica said...

I see Overboard and Poltergeist...but the rest are stumping me!

Susie said...

I forgot to mention that the ex-military business school drop out also WORKS in said bars.

Jason said...

Sorry, this one is not from the '80's.

A young man, orphaned as a small child, is raised by a religious cult. Distrusting and suspicious, he grows disenchanted with the cult after they refuse to allow him to marry the woman he loves, and he instead marries her in secret. He attempts to quit after discovering the cult's leaders intend to overthrow the elected leader of the government, and is horribly injured and disfigured as a result. Tragically, his wife dies during childbirth as he struggles for life.

Susie... cocktail!

and is your 2 liner the professional?

Susie said...

Jason is it Star wars?

Deb got the Feb. 25th at 3:25 - Cocktail.

Jess got 3:44 #2, #3. #1 is not the professional

3:51 still no answer on... dude.. i went nuts with the movie summaries, didn't i?

Susie said...

AS an aside, how cool was it when Ally Sheedy was on Psych??

Jason said...

Star Wars Ep 3 it is. Funny, that's how I interpreted the movie, but no one else agrees with me.

Jessica said...

As we're led to believe that the Star Wars Sextulogy is a continuous telling of one story...I'll allow it as an '80s flick. Though, seriously, Jason, you're pushing it. ;)

Good call on that one Susie!

I'm still working on letting my brain decipher the unsolved mysteries!

Who knew that my stupid ridiculous idea would turn into such a fun game!?!?

Jessica said...

PS Ally sheedy was on Psych? Was it the finale??? I freaking missed that one! Dang!

I need a hint on this one!

And this one!

An ex-con and his brother struggle to earn money to pay off the taxes on the orphanage that raised them. On they way, they have a religious experience and run afoul of the law.

Adan said...

on the new Yorkers one... let see....

The ordinary new yorkers are saved from the developers by a very unlikely source, the family of the a famous boxer's pet.

and private benjamin is right!

debdills said...

Jason: blues brothers?

Susie/Adan, is yours a cartoon or children's movie?

Uhm.... I'm really bad at coming up with these:

Neighborhood children pay for the mistakes of their parents. Sleeping exacerbates the problem.

Little boy befriends foreigner whom he sneaks into his home during the month of October. Government learns of the illegal alien, and attempts to track him down. Boy and foreigner escape the clutches of the government, but the foreigner heads home, leaving boy in tears.

Susie said...

not a cartoon or strictly children't movie although my kids like it. the ordinary new yorkers include a retired couple who own a diner, one of whom has Alzheimers, a pregnant girlfriend of a mariachi band member, an artist, and a boxer who took too many punches to the head and watches too much tv.
