I will be scheduling my C-section, probably for my 38th week, giving me RIGHT NOW less than six weeks to get ready for baby.
Anyone want to come over and help me sort baby clothes? Fold diapers?
I have SOOO MUCH left to do.
The aforementioned clothes sorting and folding. I still don't have a dresser for the baby's clothes, which is sort of OK, since I have no place to put one ANYWAY! Argh.
I do have plastic drawers, which will have to suffice.
The bassinet is already set up in my room. I do have to do some rearrangement of things. All my craft supplies (yarn and fabric and such) are all over the place on MY side of the room. I have to relocate ALL that into my closet and make room for baby's things and clear a spot right next to the bed for the bassinet to live.
Right now one of Elizabeth's baby Cabbage Patch dolls is sleeping in there. It was actually my brothers Cabbage Patch doll when he was a kid. Yes. MY brother had Cabbage Patch Kids. Two in fact.
I still have a lot of sewing to do for the baby. So maybe I'll focus on relocating the yarn stuff first. I have waaay too much yarn. Seriously. Too much. My mom is sending me more wool yarn that she found at her parents house in NJ too, so I'll get even more. AWESOME. I'm addicted.
Last night I made some of those easy cut and tie fleece blankets for the baby while I rewatched the Gauntlet III reunion. Those people are mean and like to curse!
This afternoon I'll be sewing diapers and diaper cover pants while Dylan naps. Fun! Actually, it is fun for me. Isn't that sick?!?!
Oh right, but that's not really the point...
Der! Preggo brain!
Next week when I schedule my C-section they are going to ask me whether or not I want to schedule a tubal ligation for the same time. Meaning they birth the baby and before they stitch me up, they take away my reproductive abilities. :( Sad.
Bob votes yes. I'm undecided. I'm still not sure how much weight Bob's vote has. I mean, yes it matters, of course. But you know, my tubing, my choice. Right?
Right NOW I don't want to have a fourth kid, but who knows about two or three years from now? But with two crazy boys...
And I'm ALREADY having surgery so I might as well...rather than have to go in for more surgery later if I decide to get it done later.
I just don't know. I think three kids is enough, but what if I'm wrong?
Whatever I decide, I have to make the choice next week.

keep your tubing as is. get bob snipped. less invasive, easier to go back on, should you decide for a fourth spawn. with all that you'll have going on, i'd think your chance for infection is higher.... sooooo let the man take it. he should take some part in the physical burden, no? ;)
THAT option is definitely off the table.
Bob's made it perfectly clear that noone is cutting his *ahem* you know.
This is a very tough decision, but totally yours of course. And hate to tell you this, but we know someone who got pg with #4 when she had a tubal AND her husband had the snip snip. Totally one in a million chance, but we know it can happen!
I'm with Debbie on this one. you have had 3 babies cut out of you, its time for someone else to be cut on. And it is less invasive for the man, faster recovery, etc.
Co you get a discount if you have both done at once? Just tryong to be practical...
Your decision in the end - Joan
How much does it cost? A five-year Mirena IUD is about $500. Mebbe that's a better solution until you are SURE you don't want a fourth, you crazy wench.
They do the tubal when you are already uh, opened up...
So it wouldn't be an extra surgery for me.
And believe me, we know that the tubal isn't foolproof. Bob was SUPPOSED to be the last kid. His mom had the tubal after having him...
Four YEARS later, she had his little brother Todd.
So yeaaah.
The whole fact that I know I would have to have yet another surgical birth if I did have a fourth is a big factor. I mean, if I was having kids naturally there's no way I would even consider. But with each C-section, even nowadays, the risks go up for all kinds of stuff. Even though they tell you it's all good and it's all safe. There's just no way you can have your uterus cut open four, five, six times and have everything be A-OK. Know what I mean?
And I'm waaay too young to think that I could go on a few years of BC and call it a reproductive life. I've got at least another 5-10 years of being able to get knocked up in me. As you all are aware, I get knocked up pretty easily... :)
I can see why you've been so stressed, you've got some big decisions to make! That debate is something moms and I talk about alot- it's tough, because, like you said- you're already IN surgery, so it would be "easier" for you. But, especially since you aren't completely sure you don't want more kids, my vote would be to keep your tubing as is. It is a quick outpatient procedure for guys, and CAN BE reverseable- so, in majority of our debates, the guy getting snipped is usually the best option.
Yeah, I don't see Bob getting anything snipped. He's not gonna do it. There's no way. :)
He's a big baby.
I'd much rather get on the NuvaRing or an IUD or something...
I'll have to talk with Bob. I just don't want to do anything permanent. You know? Even though I PROBABLY don't want four kids...
