So I have only seen Dark Knight, Tropic Thunder and Kung Fu Panda. Hey, that's what you said you saw too, weird! I read The Reader, does that count at all? Anyway, here are my picks:

BEST PICTURE
"Slumdog Millionaire", so they can feel all diverse and righteous.

BEST ACTRESS
Kate Winslet, "The Reader", because she plays a child molesting Nazi, and what is better than that. Plus, she should have won for Eternal Sunshine, so they totally owe her.

BEST ACTOR
Sean Penn, "Milk", because the Academy LOVES Sean Penn, he plays a gay, and they want to send a message to the people who voted against Prop 8, and feel all righteous

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Viola Davis, "Doubt", because they'll want to seem all diverse. Plus she came from nowhere, and they love that.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Michael Shannon, "Revolutionary Road", because I heard he was in it for all of about 10 minutes, and they love to award people who do nothing.

BEST DIRECTOR
Danny Boyle, "Slumdog Millionaire"

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
"WALL-E", because doesn't it really have not a lot of talking? That's hard.

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

David Hare, "The Reader", because the book was awful, so the adaptation has to be better

BEST ANIMATED FILM
"Wall-E", because I heard it's good, and Kung Fu Panda was stupid.

BEST ORIGINAL SONG

"Wall-E," "Down To Earth," Peter Gabriel & Thomas Newman, only because I assume the other two will cancel themselves out and aren't in English

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE

"WALL-E," Thomas Newman, because it had no words for awhile, right? So the music had to carry it

Amy, you are the funniest person ever. I love you, seriously.
Though I think they'll go Heath for the you know, dead guy portion of the program. Everyone loves a standing ovation.

Amy's probably right. However, I have to vote for Marisa Tomei because she got naked for the role. Nothing shows commitment to acting like nudity.

Jessica said...

Crap! I didn't know Marisa got nekkid! Damn!
Oscar does love a whore.

We'll see how it all shakes out on Feb. 22nd!

Oscar does love a whore. . .but I think that whole "Jack Palance wrongly called her name for My Cousin Vinny" has screwed her forever.

Sean Penn played "a gay?" Hahahaha! I love the gays.

Heath Ledger got the nod at the SAG awards.... someone loves a dead guy... and he did get a standing ovation. you called that one.
