I think I'm going to have to get an elective splenectomy in order to see that scale move downward!!
I've been here at my mom's for almost a month now...walking around, swimming, chasing after kids, blah blah...
I still weigh 175.
DYLAN lost a pound, but I still weigh the same.
Unfair!!!
The only reason that I even weighed myself was to try to figure out how much Benjamin weighs now. Unofficially, he is weighing in at 15 pounds!! FIFTEEN!
Anyway...I have to go now and stuff my face because I'm starving. It takes a lot of food to keep my butt so fat.

Meals on Wheels
Yesterday my mom and I took the kids bowling.
The kids didn't bowl as much as they rolled, as in just dropped the bowling ball and watched it roll down the lane. Sometimes only halfway before it had to be rescued by the alley worker.
One time, Elizabeth rolled and the ball touched and MOVED three pins and none of them fell down.
It was very impressive. I had flashes of "Uncle Buck" the whole time.
Thank goodness for the bumpers!
Their first game Dylan rolled a respectable 75 while Elizabeth rolled a 60. Dylan even picked up a spare in one frame! In her defense, Elizabeth tackled the game alone whereas Dylan had help from Nani and me.
The second game Dylan et al scored 68 and Elizabeth scored 58. However, Elizabeth also threw HERSELF down the lane during the second game...she walked out about five feet past the foul line and slipped and fell, but never dropped the ball. Good show! That's worth at least 10 pins, right? We'll call that second game a draw!
The best thing about the bowling alley was that it was so freaking loud, nobody could hear the baby cry! Don't call CPS! He didn't cry that much, and we fixed him when he did...it was just funny to see his scrunchy cry face and hear....nothing....
After bowling, we went to storytime at the library.
Dylan got bored halfway through, so we adjourned with the baby to a little outdoor courtyard while Nani and Elizabeth enjoyed the second book.
We met back up and walked out to a small grassy area so the kids could play for a bit. On the way out there, we passed by a man who was eating his lunch. A big man. A biiiig lunch.
In fact, the lunch was SO enormous that he had transported it to the library with him in a rolling cooler, like those suitcases everyone wheels through the airport...except it was a big giant icebox, stuffed with sandwiches.

Dylan's Well Check!
He's now 18 months old.
Incredible!
His well check was this week.
Here are his stats:
Height: 32 inches - between 25th and 50th percentile
Weight: 26.8 lbs - between 50th and 75th percentile
Head: 50 cm - between 90th and 95th percentile
The doc and I had a nice discussion about Dylan's budding bad temper. He gets frustrated and lashes out, tipping over chairs, smacking whoever has vexed him, throwing himself to the floor in a huge fit.
Doc said the frustration was normal, but the hitting was not cool. Dylan now gets time-outs when he hits. We stick him in his crib and let him cool off. It seems to be working!
After just two days (and only three time-outs) I think he's getting the message. He got mad at me last night and instead of hauling off and smacking me, he walked over, put his hand on my arm and gently pushed me. Then he looked at me with a face that said: "That is TOTALLY allowed! Not a time-outtable offense at all!"
So he's getting the picture.
On an interesting note. I had Elizabeth jump up on the scale to weigh herself, for comparison with Dylan. She weighed a little over 31 pounds, so they are not even 5 pounds apart in weight.
Crazy!
